4.01 Leadership in LIA
Understand why leadership development is a core component of Latinos In Action and how leadership opportunities help students grow academically, personally, and professionally.
Leadership as an Essential of LIA
Leadership is one of the four essential components of the Latinos In Action model and a key element of student success.
LIA believes that leadership is not simply a position or title. Leadership is a set of skills and habits that can be developed through practice, responsibility, and service.
Throughout their LIA experience, students are given opportunities to lead, collaborate, solve problems, and positively influence others.
Why Leadership Matters
Leadership experiences help students build confidence, communication skills, responsibility, and teamwork.
These skills prepare students not only for success in school, but also for college, careers, and community involvement.
By giving students meaningful leadership opportunities, LIA helps students recognize their potential and become active contributors within their schools and communities.
Leadership in Action
Leadership in LIA is learned through action. Students do not simply study leadership concepts; they actively practice leadership through committees, tutoring, service projects, classroom initiatives, and school involvement.
As an LIA teacher, your role is to help create an environment where students can take ownership, make decisions, and develop leadership skills through real experiences.
