5.04 LIA Events & Ongoing Support

Learning Objective
Understand the professional development opportunities, events, and ongoing support available to LIA teachers throughout the school year.

LIA Events

Throughout the year, Latinos In Action hosts a variety of events that provide leadership development, professional learning, networking opportunities, and celebration experiences for both students and teachers.

These events strengthen the LIA community and help students and educators continue growing throughout the school year.

LIA Conference

The LIA Conference is an end-of-year celebration and learning experience for students and teachers.

Participants attend keynote presentations, workshops, recognitions, performances, and other activities that celebrate the accomplishments of LIA students and educators.

Youth Leadership Boot Camp

The LIA Youth Leadership Boot Camp provides hands-on leadership training for students who serve in leadership positions within their schools.

Students participate in workshops, team-building activities, goal-setting exercises, leadership development sessions, and mentorship opportunities.

The experience helps students strengthen their confidence, leadership abilities, and preparation for the upcoming school year.

Educator Institute

At Latinos In Action, we value our teachers and strive to provide innovative training opportunities through our Educator Institutes.

Educators participate in professional development sessions, collaboration opportunities, networking events, and workshops designed to support successful program implementation.

These institutes provide valuable opportunities to learn from experienced educators and share best practices with other LIA teachers.

Ongoing Support

This training is only the beginning of your LIA journey.

Throughout the year, you will continue receiving support, updates, and professional learning opportunities from Latinos In Action.

  • Biweekly LIA newsletters
  • Regional Program Manager support
  • Classroom visits and coaching
  • Program updates and resources
  • Professional development opportunities

Your Regional Program Manager

Your Regional Program Manager (RPM) is your primary support person throughout the school year.

RPMs regularly check in with teachers, answer questions, provide guidance, and help ensure successful implementation of the LIA program.

Never hesitate to reach out to your RPM whenever you need support or assistance.

Final Phone Call & Next Steps

To conclude your training, you will meet with your Regional Program Manager for a final conversation.

During this meeting, you will have an opportunity to discuss what you learned, ask questions, and receive additional guidance before implementing LIA at your school.

This conversation typically lasts between 30 minutes and one hour, depending on your needs and questions.
